Samsung SCH-u540 Weird Noise When Call Connects - What is it???

Question asked by tipsu21
First and foremost, this is NOT the "Call Connect" melody that is an option. This is more of a high frequency hiss that is wildly irritating, and I have to hang up the call, turn off the phone, and call the person back. If I just hang up and call back, I still get this frequency noise. I have no idea what it is, but I'd rather not be stuck with this irritation if an emergency arises or if I'm waiting for an important phone call ((not many people take kindly to being hung up on... hehe)) Please help!!!

Oh, and I am a Verizon Wireless customer, and never had this issue with the four other cell phones I've had with Verizon.

If its happening off and on it could be a temporary network problem. Check if other Verizon customers are facing this same problem.

On the other hand, it is quite possible that some hardware / software problem in your phone is malfunctioning and thus preventing you from using the phone properly. This could occur if the phone has been dropped or handled roughly or if you've installed some new application on the phone. It would be best if you take the phone to the samsung service centre and ask them to check out the problem.
